we weave our lives
in a tapestry
of varying tones and hues –
some fibers strong,
some a weakened strand,
each deepening and modulating
the experience of our lives
as we embrace
our personal, precious fabrics,
we hope we have used them
to wipe a tear,
to warm a heart,
to sew love and compassion
into our world
